LDC (Local Distribution Company) Performance Excellence Award
|
In 2006, the LDC Performance Excellence Award was introduced to recognize an
electricity distributor in Ontario whose accomplishments over a one year period have stood out above all others.
The LDC Performance Excellence Award, sponsored by the Ontario Power Generation, is presented annually to a nominated member of the
Electricity Distributors Association (EDA) that has distinguished itself for performance excellence in the areas of Occupational
Health & Safety, Operational Excellence, Financial Operations, Retail Strategies for Conservation and Demand Management, and
Contribution to the Community. |

On March 9th, 2009, Hydro One Brampton was announced as the winner of
the 2008 award at the EDA's Annual General Meeting in Toronto. (Past) President and CEO of Hydro One Brampton, Roger Albert, proudly
accepted the award, in the presence of President and CEO of Hydro One Inc., Laura Formusa, Ontario's Minister of Energy, George
Smitherman, and many other industry peers.
"Hydro One Brampton strives for excellence in all that we do because of our commitment to our customers, the community and to each other,"
stated Mr. Albert. "This award is a welcome recognition by the industry and is a direct result of that commitment." |
Business Award for Safety in 2008
Hydro One Brampton has had numerous successes over the past year but was especially pleased to be recognized in 2008 by the Brampton Safe City
Association for our "outstanding contribution to safety in the workplace, to the families of our employees and to all the citizens in Brampton".
Safety is of particular importance in the electricity distribution business and to Hydro One Brampton.
Past President and current board member of Hydro One Brampton, Gerry O'Hearn, was also presented with the "Volunteer Award for Safety" in
recognition of his many years of volunteer work for the Brampton Safe City Association.
Reaching One Million Hours of Safety
Hydro One Brampton held a celebration for its employees on June 9th (2009) after reaching this significant safety milestone earlier in the year.
It took nearly 3 years to achieve the one million hour milestone with zero lost time accidents, but it was worth every minute!
