Ontario's electricity system has changed from a monopoly to an open market. Residents and businesses will now be able to shop around for the best deal for the energy portion of their electricity bill. Other charges, such as for the delivery of the electricity to your home or business, will remain a monopoly function, and therefore must be regulated. The regulator for Hydro One Brampton is the Ontario Energy Board.
