FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1) How long does it take for Hydro One Brampton to receive my payment?
2) Why is there a convenience fee when I pay by credit card? There are several methods available to pay your bill without cost to you. However, if you do choose to pay by credit card, you will be required to pay a convenience charge. Credit card companies charge businesses like Hydro One Brampton, a percentage of the payment for processing. These charges are incremental to the amount required to pay your bill. As a regulated utility, Hydro One Brampton is obligated to ensure that the entire amount of your payment be applied to your account. The convenience charge that the credit card charges for this transaction must be paid for by the user of the credit card. 3) How much will the convenience fee be? The convenience fee is $8.50 per transaction with a maximum of $350.00 per transaction. If you have a balance owing that is greater than $350.00, you would need to make multiple transactions if you choose to pay by credit card. 4) How will this appear on my credit card statement? Your credit card statement will show the amount paid to Hydro One Brampton for your energy account as "Hydro", and your convenience fee will be listed separately as "Paymentus". |
