The Ontario Power Authority in cooperation with Hydro One Brampton are assisting Commercial, Industrial,
and Institutional and Agricultural customers to conserve energy.
The Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program appreciates that when a business is making choices between
different equipment options, the desired choice is for the most efficient solution, but for financing
reasons or timing reasons other choices may be made. We would like to influence the decision in favour
of the most electricity efficient ones.
The Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program focuses on the areas of lighting, motors, heating and ventiliation
and air conditioning (HVAC), and the overall electricity systems.
Timelines
This is a limited time offer and applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
Project application deadline is December 31, 2007.
Eligible projects must be completed prior to December 1, 2008.
Incentives are offered for pre-approved technologies on a per unit basis. The following links provide additional
information about qualifying Prescriptive Technologies.

reduction. The incentive offered of $150/kW is based specifically on the level of improvement.
Applicants must be Hydro One Brampton commercial customers.
Applicants may be owners or tenants of business premises supplied by Hydro One Brampton.
Please note that if you are a tenant, you must obtain permission from the property owner for installation of
the measures for which an incentive is claimed.

Incentives will be available for pre-apprioved projects that result in measurable reductions in electrical demand.
These projects may be completed using energy efficient technologies prescribed by the program or may be
based on innovative custom initiatives.

Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation (CIPEC)
This program is sponsored by Natural Resource Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency to help the
private industrial sector improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gases and increase their profitability.
The program offers financial incentives, energy management workshops with a variety of resources available on saving energy.
EnerGuide for Existing Buildings (EEB)
The EnerGuide for Existing Buildings program, formerly known as the Energy Innovators Initiative, was designed to encourage
commercial businesses and public institutions to invest in existing buildings. Building owners and/or managers
must first become a member of EBB to gain access to the information, training and tools available through
the program and to be eligible for retrofit incentives.
Industrial Building Incentive Program (IBIP)
Intended for new industrial building construction, this program offers financial incentives
of up to $80,000 to building owners who implement energy efficiency into the design and processes of industrial
buildings.
Commercial Building Incentive Program (CBIP)
Similar to the Industrial Building Incentive Program, this initiative by the Office of Energy Efficiency offers
financial incentives to new or extensively renovated industrial, commercial or institutional buildings that are heated
and/or cooled, intended for occupancy, and constructed to CBIP criteria. Incentives up to $60,000 are available
for eligible organizations based on building energy savings. This program runs from April 1, 1998, to March 31, 2007.
ENERGY STARŪ
The ENERGY STAR is an international symbol identifying products that are up to 50% more efficient than the minimum
regulated standard in Canada. Manufacturers and retailers of certain products must meet the ENERGY STAR level of
energy efficiency before labelling their products with this symbol. It is intended as a simple way for consumers to
choose products that will save energy, reduce greenhouse gases (GHG) and save money.
EnerGuide Program
The EnerGuide Program rates the energy performance of a product with others in the same size and class. The program was designed
to promote the production, purchase and use of energy-efficient products including heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC)
equipment, motors, dry-type transformers, HVAC, lighting products, refrigeration products, boilers, compressors, and pumps. These
products are labelled with information on the energy consumption of individual models.
