ENERGY STARŪ
The ENERGY STAR is an international symbol identifying products that are up to 50% more efficient than the minimum
regulated standard in Canada. Manufacturers and retailers of certain products must meet the ENERGY STAR level of
energy efficiency before labelling their products with this symbol. It is intended as a simple way for consumers to
choose products that will save energy, reduce greenhouse gases (GHG) and save money.

EnerGuide Program
The EnerGuide Program rates the energy performance of a product with others in the same size and class. The program was designed
to promote the production, purchase and use of energy-efficient products including clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators,
freezers, dehumidifiers and heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment. These products are labelled with information
on the energy consumption of individual models.
EnerGuide for New Houses
