Electricity Rates
Your electricity bill from Hydro One Brampton will include changes to the delivery
and energy components of your bill. These changes have been approved by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB).
Residential Consumers (on the Regulated Pricing Plan)
The Ontario Energy Board announced new electricity prices for the winter period, from November 1, 2007 to
April 30, 2008. Residential consumers under the Regulated Pricing Plan (RPP) will pay 5.0 cents per kilowatt hour
for the first 1,000 kilowatt hours used in one billing month, and 5.9 cents per kilowatt hour consumed above the
1,000 kilowatt hour threshold in the same month.
NOTE: Prices will be reviewed by the OEB and may be adjusted every six months. Visit the
website of the Ontario Energy Board for more information on
electricity pricing.
Non-Residential, Small Business and Designated Consumers
The price threshold for all seasons, for non-residential, small business (with consumption
under 50 kilowatts) and designated consumers, will remain at 750 kilowatt-hours per month.
Delivery
The Ontario Energy Board (OEB), responsible for regulating the distribution rates of utilities
across the Province, has given approval to Hydro One Brampton for an adjustment to our distribution
rates. The distribution rate changes will affect the "Delivery" line of all customer
bills, effective May 1, 2007.

For customers using more than 250,000 kWh of electricity per year
Since the beginning of the year, a new adjustment to wholesale prices called a "Provincial Benefit" has appeared on utility bills. This adjustment accounts for differences between the market price and rates paid to regulated and contracted generators.
The Provincial Benefit is calculated to reflect:
The difference between the market price and the regulated rate paid to Ontario Power Generation's baseload generating stations.
Payments made to suppliers that were awarded contracts through the Ontario's government's RFP process.
The difference between contracted rates paid to Non-Utility Generators and the market price. These costs used to be paid through the Debt Retirement Charge.
The Provincial Benefit may be a positive or negative number, depending on whether the market price is lower or higher than the fixed rates. Note the amount that appears on your bill may be different, taking into account the period of time covered in your bill.
