Rebate on OPG Non-Prescribed Assets (ONPA)
The Government of Ontario has set a price of 4.7¢/kWh on
85% of the output from Ontario Power Generation's (OPG)
coal-fired and small hydro-electric operations, which will be
lifted on April 30, 2006. Customers paying the wholesale
price for electricity can expect to see a refund on their bills
next summer for monies collected above the set price*.
*NOTE: Customers with a retail contract may or may not receive
this rebate depending on their contract provisions and should
contact their electricity retailer for more information.
