On October 29, 2010, the Ontario Energy Board issued a Notice of Proceeding to determine whether the costs and damages incurred by electricity distributors as a result of the April 21, 2010 Minutes of Settlement in the late payment penalty class action are recoverable, and if so, the form and timing of such recovery from electricity distribution ratepayers.

The Regulated Price Plan (RPP)

The Regulated Price Plan, which took effect April 1, 2005, was introduced by the OEB to provide stable electricity pricing, encourages conservation and ensures the price consumers pay for electricity better reflects the price paid to electricity generators.

Electricity prices are set by the OEB and are based on a forecast of the cost of electricity over 12 months. These prices will be reviewed by the OEB and may be adjusted every six months.

Consumers that are classified by the Ontario Energy Board as general service with a consumption of less than 250,000 kWh per year are eligible for the Regulated Price Plan. If you purchase electricity from an electricity retailer, the prices you pay will be different and will be stated in the contract you signed.

For information on RPP prices in effect, visit The Regulated Price Plan section of our website.

Conditions of Service

Like all electricity distributors across the province, Hydro One Brampton is required to provide customers with a Conditions of Service document that outlines our operating practices, connection policies and the types and level of service we offer within our service area in Brampton.
