Regulatory charges are the costs of administering the wholesale electricity system and maintaining the
reliability of the provincial grid, and include the costs associated with funding the Ministry of Energy's conservation and
renewable energy programs. Included in these charges is the Special Purpose Charge that enables the government to recover
some of the costs related to these conservation and renewable energy programs.
