Residential ServicesCall Before You DigOn April 3rd 2013, Hydro One Brampton joined the Ontario One Call system. All contractors and home owners can process their locate requests through Ontario One Call. If you plan to install a fence, build a deck, put in a pool, or do any other work that requires digging, have a locate done to ensure you don't come into contact with underground electrical cables. Hitting a cable with a power shovel, excavator or auger could cause severe injury, even death. By contacting Ontario One Call before you dig, you'll stay safe and avoid unnecessary damage to buried lines. To request an underground cable locate: Call Ontario One Call at 1-800-400-2255 or submit an e-ticket at www.on1call.com Ontario One Call is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please provide at least five working days’ notice. Swimming Pool Permits To get a permit from the City to install a pool, hot tub or spa you must first obtain a clearance approval from our Drafting and Records Section. For more information please call 840-6300 Pool requirement information may be obtained at the City of Brampton's website under Building Permits. Hydro Wires And Trees Sometimes trees grow through and around live hydro wires. This can be a hazard to anyone trimming the tree or in particular to children climbing the tree. Our forestry crews routinely patrol our lines and trim trees on public property to ensure that branches do not interfere with electrical service. We will provide limited trimming around the hydro service of your home for safety purposes. Please call our Forestry Dept. at 840-6300 ext. 5518 for more details. Before landscaping around the green padmount transformer boxes on your lawn, please check with our Forestry Department. |
