On behalf of Hydro One Brampton, welcome to our website!
Hydro One Brampton is a subsidiary of Hydro One Inc. and is a part of the Hydro One Inc. family of companies. Our job is to supply electricity to
more than 127,000 homes and businesses in Brampton.
It is our mission to be an efficient and dynamic distribution business that is the best in the areas of safety, customer service, reliability,
great employees and shareholder values.
Our employees are proud of their achievements in these areas.
The safety of our employees and of the public has always been, and will always be, our number one priority. This is evidenced by the numerous awards
we have received from the Electrical & Utility Safety Association (E&USA) in the past, and our most recent milestone of 500,000 hours worked without
a lost-time injury.
Over the last three years, Hydro One Brampton has been developing and implementing programs to help both our residential and our business customers reduce
their electricity consumption and lower their electricity bills. Although we have kept our focus on customer education, we've felt as educators, that it is
important to practise what we preach. As a result, Hydro One Brampton has been educating our employees as well as upgrading our own facilities,
implementing many of the same programs we have been promoting to our customers.
Back in 1992, Hydro One Brampton's newly-built headquarters was designed with energy efficiency in mind. The utility was awarded that year for our
'Achievement in Reducing Energy Demand'. Technologies, which were new at the time, such as energy efficient windows, HVAC systems, lighting, including
motion sensors throughout the building, were all included in the building design. Sixteen years later however, many of those technologies have become
out-dated and inefficient.
We addressed our building's energy inefficiencies, by replacing the lighting system throughout the entire facility with more energy efficient lamps
and fixtures, and updated our ageing heating, ventilation and air conditioning system with high efficiency units. In addition, we installed three
renewable energy generating systems (solar and wind) at our facility on Sandalwood Parkway to serve as technology demonstrations for residential and
commercial customers.
In 2006, we commissioned a customer survey to determine how satisfied our customers are with our service. We achieved a 93% rating, higher than both
the National or Provincial averages. Every year, we participate in a survey through the Electricity Distributors Association. This survey compares many
aspects of our business with others in Ontario. For the past 5 years, we have had one of the lowest, or the lowest, Operating, Maintenance and
Administrative (OM&A) costs of all large electrical utilities in Ontario. This survey shows Hydro One Brampton as average or better than average in most
areas. We have been able to accomplish this while still maintaining average or better than average reliability for our customers.
Hydro One Brampton will continue to keep customers informed, through this website or by way of the newsletters we include with electricity bills, of
any changes in the electricity industry and any changes we are required to make as your electricity provider.
Feel free to check out the Community Connection section on our website to see the many ways that Hydro One Brampton and our employees are involved in
local charitable events.
We encourage you to contact us through this website to submit your questions, comments, or requests for information. All questions and requests will
be responded to in a timely manner.
